History and Sociology of Statistics on Science, Technology and Innovation:
"To date, the project on the History and Sociology of Statistics on Science, Technology and Innovation has produced two books and over thirty papers. Now in its second phase, the project turns to the history and genealogy of the concepts behind the numbers. Research is such a concept, one that has a specific definition in statistics, as is innovation. More particularly, the project actually examines the idea of innovation (and invention) for an understanding of how and why it developed such a centrality in modern societies: its emergence in the Middle-Ages, its theoretical analysis in anthropology, history, and sociology in the 19th Century, and in economics in the 20th Century."
